We hear more and more everyday about "Going Green" and how we can help the environment. In our industry we are also seeing the equipment manufacturers focusing more on the higher efficiency units. As of January 2010 the EPA has regulated that all equipment manufactured must use R-410a refrigerant. The older units that use Freon or R-22 will still be able to be serviced and the R-22 refrigerant will be manufactured until 2020. However, the cost for R-22 refrigerant is projected to rise over the next 10 years. The EPA has some good information on ways to save money and help the environment at the same time.
